RaQuest automatically applies an exclusive lock per requirement to avoid users edit the same requirement at the same time. This applies when the status of requirements attributes is changed to be edited. Situations are when:
•Opening a Requirement Detail dialog
•Making Requirement Attributes editable in list
•Trying to edit Requirement Attributes when option Always Display Requirement is on.
This exclusive lock is applied if the version of Enterprise Architect is Professional or upper. If other users open the requirements and those requirements have exclusive locks, attributes other than the "Lock" attribute cannot be edited.
Also, if a Security of Enterprise Architect is enabled in a project, all attributes including locked ones will have exclusive locks to avoid other users from editing.
Furthermore, if Require User Lock to Edit mode of Enterprise Architect is enabled, the exclusive lock function can be checked/applied/released in RaQuest manually. A red or blue "!" is displayed in Project Tree for confirming the exclusive lock. You can apply and release the exclusive lock from context menu of Project Tree. In this case, the range of exclusive locks can be specified beforehand to make editing easily.
